From a modest start with a single shipyard, established in 1927, DAMEN has since grown to over 30 shipyards and related companies involved in new construction as well as maintenance and repair activities.

In 1969 the concept of construction of tugs, workboats and other commercial craft to standard designs, based on modular building principles, was introduced. This modular construction approach offers our clients important advantages: competitive prices, short delivery times and proven technology and performance.

Today, our new building activities include a wide range of products, such as tugs, workboats, patrol craft, cargo vessels, dredgers and even mega yachts and fast ferries.

Product design and engineering are carried out in-house and a broad range of standard designs is available. Damen’s product development policy is primarily driven by customer feedback and (field) experience. We consider this a strength that has been at the core of our success. More than 4300 units were delivered.

Competitive pricing and a reputation for efficient post-delivery customer support is an equally important feature of DAMEN.

In addition to shipbuilding a range of maritime support services are offered such as the supply of Complete Knocked Down shipbuilding kits of vessel by Damen Technical Cooperation Service, Spare Parts Supply Service by Damen Parts, after sales support by Damen Field Service and training programs for crews.

Our extensive international Sales and Marketing organization enables us to maintain close contact with our customers worldwide. This allows us to respond to their needs in a prompt and professional manner.
