Dredging towards the centenary of the Panama Canal

The 12,000kW vessel has been designed and built by IHC Beaver Dredgers at its Sliedrecht shipyard in The Netherlands for the Panama Canal Authority* (ACP – the Panama Government’s autonomous agency).

 Cargo vessel activities Damen combined
6 September 2010Effective September 2010 the cargo vessel activities of the Damen Shipyards Cargo Vessels and Damen Shipyards Bergum will be combined and located in Bergum, the Netherlands. As a result of this effort the complete production line of sea going cargo vessels can be offered and delivered. This production line consists of a series of tankers of 2.500 to 8.000 tons and a series of multi purpose cargo vessels of 2.500 to 13.500 tons deadweight.

Cooperation agreement for IHC Backhoe dredgers between IHC Merwede and Liebherr-France
6 September 2010 IHC Engineering Services, part of IHC Merwede, and Liebherr-France (Mining and Marine Excavators division) have announced that they have entered into a cooperation agreement. Both parties signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) regarding joint activity in relation to product development, sales and global service of IHC backhoe dredgers.

6 September 2010 Damen Shipyards Group is proud to announce the sale of its first-ever Twin Axe Catamaran, the Damen High Speed Support Vessel (HSSV) 2610, which is particularly suited for the offshore wind industry. Marineco UK, based in Edinburgh, Scotland, recently signed for the new HSSV 2610 with an option for a second. The Scottish firm already has an extensive Damen fleet.
